DUNOON, Sep 9, 2016 – Two local ladies have been recognised for their excellent work this year at Webhelp’s annual Star Awards.
Maria Dyer was awarded the title of Brightest Star of the Year and was chosen out of a total UK team of more than 7,000 for this prestigious award.
Another Dunoon colleague, Fiona McCartan, was a runner up in the Making a Difference category for her wonderful fundraising work for Dunoon Youth Club.
The awards were presented by Webhelp’s UK CEO, David Turner at a glittering James Bond themed gala dinner, held in the sumptuous surroundings of South Queensferry’s Hopetoun House, last night (Sep 8).
He said: “Maria has been in the business for three years and during that time has shown amazing development. She was picked by our client to be the main star of their internal marketing video to promote the benefits of her campaign. Maria has been a star that has burned very brightly this year and I am very excited to see what she will do next year. Congratulations to Maria and thank you to her for her excellent work this year.”
Speaking of Fiona’s fundraising efforts this year, David said: “This award was particularly hard to choose a winner for. Fiona has worked tirelessly and selflessly to support her local youth club and I am very proud to call her a Webhelp colleague.”
Maria received an award and a cheque for £1,000, while Fiona was presented with a bottle of champagne and a cheque for £500 for her charity, Dunoon Youth Club.
