GLASGOW, Sep 9, 2016 – Three Glasgow colleagues have been recognised for their excellent work this year at Webhelp’s annual Star Awards, held in the sumptuous surroundings of South Queenferry’s, Hopetoun House.

David Cooper and Katrina Horne took home two of the night’s top prizes, being named People Manager of the Year (non-team leader role) and The Spirit of Webhelp respectively. David and Katrina beat stiff competition from more than 7,000 Webhelp colleagues in the UK to clinch these titles.

Although he didn’t win this time, Kenny Scott was given a special mention as a runner up in the Brightest Star category.

The awards were presented by Webhelp’s UK CEO, David Turner at a glittering James Bond themed gala dinner last night (Sep 8).

He said: “Webhelp is only as good as the people we employ, so it is incredibly important to hear of and reward these great examples of excellence.

“David has excellent ideas that he works hard to bring to fruition, including new ways to incentivise, which the team has really responded to. He is very approachable and creative. He introduced an ‘Ask Cooper’ form to allow colleagues to ask him questions directly and improve communication. I am immensely proud to have David as part of the Webhelp family and am delighted that he has won this award tonight. But that isn’t all, because after five years in the business David has also just been promoted from operations manager to head of operations, financial services. Congratulations David!

“Our Spirit of Webhelp Award exists to recognise those unsung heroes in the business. Those people who work hard, show fantastic team spirit, support and encourage their colleagues and always have a positive attitude. Katrina fits that bill perfectly and is describe by her colleagues as the heart of their team. Katrina is a wonderful example to us all and I am delighted to be able to recognise her very valuable contribution to the business with this award tonight.”
