Customer experience management company, Webhelp UK, has raised £1400 for the Ronald McDonald House in Glasgow.

Over the past three months, Webhelp UKÂ’s Rothesay team raised funds for the charity through a variety of events including a dress down month and a home baking sale. Tanya Spiers, one of the Rothesay team, also made and sold jewellery, bringing the total to £1400.

Webhelp UKÂ’s Rothesay team was inspired to raise money for this worthy cause by team member Jordan Lyon. Jordan and his partner, Jody, became aware of the vital service Ronald McDonald House Charities provides after the birth of their daughter, Cassey.

Shortly after Cassey was born, it was discovered she would have to spend some time in Yorkhill ChildrenÂ’s Hospital in Glasgow. Luckily, a nearby Ronald McDonald House offered Jordan and Jody the opportunity to stay just a stoneÂ’s throw away.

Ronald McDonald House Charities provides free accommodation for families with children in hospital, allowing them to stay close-by during treatment. There are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK, helping more than 6000 families every year.

After learning about the Ronald McDonald House, JordanÂ’s colleagues decided to raise money for the charity. Charity fundraising and local contribution are an important part of the work the Webhelp teams carry out across the country. Team Ambassadors help co-ordinate the fundraising efforts of the Webhelp colleagues and ensure they are supported during events and activities.

Webhelp UK Ambassador, Jordan, commented that the support he and Jody received from the Ronald McDonald House has been remarkable and that they were both very grateful to the Webhelp Rothesay team for helping other families in a similar situation. Jordan said:

“The Ronald McDonald House in Glasgow allowed us to stay close to Cassey for as long as we needed to. The difference it makes to families with sick children is phenomenal and as soon as my colleagues in Rothesay heard about the charityÂ’s work, they wanted to help.

“The whole Webhelp team’s response has been great. Jody and I were really proud to be able to hand over the cheque to the Ronald McDonald House Charity.”
