Two Dearne Valley colleagues have been recognised for their excellent work this year at Webhelp’s annual Star Awards, held in the sumptuous surroundings of Hopetoun House, just outside Edinburgh.

Claire McLoughlin and Christy Winfield took home one of the top titles each, Role Model of the Year (support role) and WOW Factor, respectively. Claire also led the team that scooped the night’s top prize, the CEO Special Recognition Award.

Claire and Christy beat stiff competition from more than 7,000 Webhelp colleagues in the UK to clinch these titles.

The awards were presented by Webhelp’s UK CEO, David Turner at a glittering James Bond themed gala dinner last night (Sep 8).

He said: “Webhelp is only as good as the people we employ, so it is incredibly important to talk about and reward these great examples of excellence.

“The WOW Factor award recognises someone who has achieved amazing results for the business. Christy has made a profound impression on the people she works with, being a great colleague, someone to have a laugh and air your concerns with while making sure the work gets done and the projects are delivered. Wow!

“The Role Model of the Year title rewards our most inspirational or motivational colleagues, who display great leadership qualities. Claire has been with us as a project manager in our Infrastructure and Transition team for just over a year and has consistently gone above and beyond to deliver a number of key, high profile projects in often challenging circumstances. I am very pleased to be able to reward her excellent work with this award tonight.”

Claire also led the team who received this year’s CEO Special Recognition Award. David explained why he chose this team.

“This year I wanted to recognise some exceptional work by a virtual team which involved people from almost every part of our business in a very difficult, demanding and intense business project. I have selected this team because, not only have they successfully delivered a very complex project to exacting timescales, but they have done it in a way that exemplifies our values, commitment, integrity, unity and WOW!”

Claire and Christy were presented with an award and a cheque for £1,000 each. Claire also received a second cheque for £1,000 to share with the project team.
