Team members at Webhelp UK’s Rothesay site have helped bring a young local athlete’s Olympic dreams one step closer, by raising close to £200 to fund her once in a lifetime trip to a Chinese training camp.

The team presented the cheque to youth badminton star, Sarah Sidebottom, as she and team mates raise funds for their £8,000 trip this October.

Having spent most of her life on the island, 14 year old Sarah has already represented Scotland at under 15 level, and has played for the Glasgow School of Sport, where she now studies, in competitions in Belgium, Germany and Denmark.
Ryan Aird, Webhelp UK Engagement Ambassador in Rothesay, said:

“Sarah is a really dedicated young woman who, at such a young age, has already become a real asset to the Isle of Bute.  “WeÂ’re really proud to be able to support her and her team mates as they look to build on their success to date, and hope to be able to help her more in the future.

“Thanks to Webhelp’s fundraising and other contributions we’ve now nearly hit our £8,000 target, which is fantastic.”
